Renita Smith

Co-CEO

Renita E. Smith is co-CEO of Camber and serves ex officio on the organization’s board of directors. She is dedicated to empowering Outdoor Recreation Economy leaders to build workplaces in which people from all communities, backgrounds, identities, faiths, and worldviews can thrive.

Renita has more than two decades of leadership experience spanning both corporate and nonprofit sectors, including a deep understanding of how to engage diverse consumers, audiences, and communities. In her previous role as Camber’s Chief Programs Officer, Smith envisioned and operationalized an interactive suite of actionable resources to catalyze meaningful and measurable systems change across the Outdoor Recreation Economy.

Prior to joining Camber, Renita was Founder of Principles Marketing, a strategic management consultancy focused on building purpose-driven brands for superior performance and social impact. Highlights include work with Microsoft, the Los Angeles Urban League, and several large health systems and venture-backed healthcare companies. Renita began her career in consumer marketing at General Mills, where she was one of a cohort of individuals worldwide honored with the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Performance.

Renita serves on the boards of Thrive Scholars, The Earl B. and Loraine Miller Foundation, and Chadwick School.

Renita holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
